Cookies
What this platform stores in your browser — and what it does not.
We set no cookies
The Certification Platform sets no cookies. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no third-party tracking scripts of any kind — no Google Analytics, no Matomo, no Hotjar, no advertising pixels, no social media embeds.
Because nothing is stored for advertising, statistics or profiling, there is no consent banner to click through and no preferences for you to manage. That is a deliberate design choice, not an omission.
What we do store, and why
Signing in stores two things in your browser's local storage — not as cookies, but worth explaining because they are still data held on your device:
- A sign-in token, so you stay signed in as you move between pages and do not have to re-enter your password on every screen. It expires automatically.
- A refresh token, used only to renew the above without interrupting an exam in progress.
Both are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, which is why they are exempt from the consent requirement under § 25(2) TDDDG. Neither is used to track you, neither is shared with anyone, and both are discarded when you sign out or when they expire.
During a proctored exam the platform also holds session state in the page itself for the duration of that exam. It is not persisted to your device and is gone when the exam ends.
Clearing it
Signing out removes the tokens. Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings has the same effect — you will simply need to sign in again.
Other IONOS websites
This page covers the Certification Platform only. Other IONOS websites are operated separately and set their own cookies — see the IONOS cookie information for those.
